all diuretics are banned because they promote rapid weight loss, increase urine output, producing an over-dilute and potentially untestable urine. In addition they may cause severe dehydration during exercise, which could even be fatal!

The combination of a diuretic with competitive sport in ahtletes not otherwise requiring this medicine is dangerous and may be seriously detrimental to health
